Is Solar PV the same as Solar Panels?

Yes, solar PV and solar panels are often used interchangeably to refer to the same technology. The PV simply stands for "photovoltaic".

Solar PV systems use solar panels to convert sunlight into electricity. The panels are made up of multiple solar cells that contain semiconductor materials, typically silicon, which generate an electric current when exposed to sunlight.

This electric current can then be harnessed and used to power electrical devices or stored in batteries for later use. So, when people talk about installing solar panels on rooftops or using solar energy, they are essentially referring to solar PV systems.
